Terms of Use
These terms exist in Swedish, English and Brazilian Portuguese, with the same content. If you use Klenod in English, this version is the one that applies to you.
Klenod is run by Spitakolus AB (Swedish Reg. no. 559554-6101), Sweden. By creating an account you accept these terms. Please read them – they are short on purpose.
Who may use Klenod
- You are 13 years or older (18 or older in Brazil; the age limit follows the country of your App Store or Google Play account). We ask for your year of birth when the account is created, and no account is created, or it is blocked, for anyone under the age limit.
- If you are under 18, you need your parent's or guardian's approval to buy Klenod Plus and to agree on purchases, sales or trades with others. The Plus purchase can be approved with the family features of the App Store or Google Play.
- You use your own name or a nickname you actually go by.
- You have one account. Creating several accounts to get around a block or a suspension is not allowed.
- You only upload photos you have taken yourself, or have the right to use.
Klenod does not handle payments
Read this. Klenod is a register and a meeting place – not a marketplace. We do not receive payments, hold any money or take any fee, and we are not a party to any purchase or trade. You settle the deal between yourselves.
This means that you are the one responsible for assessing the other party, the condition of the item and the price. We cannot guarantee that an item is genuine, that it is in the condition stated or that the other party follows through. Estimated values shown in the app come from external catalogs and market data, and are always shown with their source – they are estimates, not a promise of what something is worth.
Use your judgment. Meet in a public place, pay in a way that can be traced, and call it off if something feels wrong.
Since the deal is between two private individuals, consumer protection law usually does not apply. In the EU, for example, the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases only applies when you buy from a business. If you want to be able to change your mind, agree on that with the other party before you trade or sell. If someone is in fact selling as a business, consumer law may apply anyway, however they describe themselves. Any tax on what you sell is also your own responsibility – check the rules of the tax authority where you live.
Older items and export
Some older collectibles – for example old books and manuscripts, works of art or larger coin and stamp collections – may require an export license when they leave a country, for example when sold to a buyer abroad. In Sweden, the Historic Environment Act (kulturmiljölagen) may require a license from the Swedish National Heritage Board (Riksantikvarieämbetet) – read more at raa.se. Other countries have their own rules. It is the seller's own responsibility to find out whether a license is required. Klenod is not a party to the deal and does not check export licenses.
What you may not post
You must not publish, send or ask for:
- Counterfeits – copies passed off as genuine, pirated copies, and material that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
- Scams – fake listings, advance-fee fraud, spam, advertising and chain letters.
- Threats, harassment, stalking or hateful content.
- Sexual content and sexual advances that are not wanted.
- Material that shows or promotes sexual abuse of children. See our child safety standards.
- Items that by law may not be sold or transferred – weapons, drugs, stolen goods, endangered species and anything else that requires a permit.
- Other people's pictures or personal data without their consent.
Report and block
You can report an item, a club post, a profile, a message or an entire club directly where you see it, via the "…" menu. The first option in the list is counterfeit or copyright, since that is the most common reason in a collecting app. You can also block anyone you don't want to be in contact with.
We start reviewing every report within 24 hours, and you get a confirmation in your notifications once a decision has been made. Content that breaks the terms is removed, and accounts that break them are suspended – for serious violations, permanently and without warning. Suspected crimes are reported to the police.
All moderation decisions are made by a human, not by automated systems. If any of your content is removed, you get a notification that says what the decision concerns and why, and you can ask for the decision to be reconsidered by emailing support@spitakolus.com.
If you can't report in the app, email support@spitakolus.com.
Reviews
Once both parties have confirmed that the deal happened, you can give each other a review. Write truthfully about how it went. You may not get reviews in exchange for something, write reviews of deals that have not taken place, or use reviews to threaten someone.
Your content
What you photograph and write is yours. You give us the right to store, process (for example make images smaller), back up and show it to the extent needed to run, protect and moderate Klenod – nothing else. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising. The right ends when you delete the content or your account, except in backups that are overwritten within eight days. We may remove content that breaks the terms.
Who can see what you post: you decide what shows. Other signed-in users can see the photo, name and category of your items, but never their value, and you can make a shelf or an item private whenever you like. Club posts and threads are visible to all signed-in users who visit the club. Items you mark as for sale or for trade can be shown to other users via search, clubs, matching and your shelf. Only you and the recipient can see direct messages.
If you add an item in a category that has a club, you automatically become a member there, and your display name is shown in the club's member list. You can leave the club whenever you like, and once you have left it, new items do not add you again. More about this in the privacy policy.
AI suggestions
The app can use AI (Anthropic) to read a photo you have taken and suggest details about the item. The suggestion can be wrong – you confirm or change it before anything is saved, and nothing is saved automatically. See the privacy policy for how the image is handled.
Cost and Klenod Plus
Collecting in Klenod is free – the shelf, the catalog, your photos, your watchlist and exporting your collection. Reading the clubs is free, and replying to a message someone has sent you is always free.
Klenod Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks two things: writing your own posts and comments in the clubs, and making first contact with another collector. Plus is provided by Spitakolus AB. You buy it in the App Store or on Google Play, which handle the payment. Plus runs for a year at a time, and the price is shown in the store before you buy.
The subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. If the price changes, the store tells you before the new price applies. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in the App Store or Google Play – the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Charges, changing the period and refunds are handled by the store under its own terms; we can neither cancel it for you nor refund you. You can always send questions and complaints about Plus itself to us. These terms do not limit your rights under mandatory consumer law.
Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription – you cancel it in the store. If you end Plus, your collection and all your items remain exactly as before.
This used to be free. Writing in the clubs and making first contact cost nothing before Plus was introduced. That is why every account created up to and including November 30, 2026 gets Klenod Plus free of charge for one year, counted from the day the account was created. The gift costs nothing, needs no payment method and never turns into a paid subscription – if you want to continue afterwards, you buy Plus yourself. The end date is shown on the Plus page in the app. If we later change what is included without Plus, we will tell you in advance.
Closing your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time, or ask us to do it – see Delete account. Your data is then permanently removed. You can export your collection first. We may suspend an account that breaks the terms.
Personal data
How we process your data is described in the privacy policy.
Liability
We do our best to make the app work, but cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. We are not responsible for deals between users. In all other respects, our liability is limited to what follows from mandatory Swedish law. Swedish law applies to these terms. If you use Klenod as a consumer outside Sweden, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
Catalog data from third parties
The app's catalog search uses data and images from external sources. The source is always given next to each piece of information in the app. For record data, the following mandatory notice applies: "This application uses Discogs' API but is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discogs. 'Discogs' is a trademark of Zink Media, LLC." Other sources: Scryfall (Magic cards), TCGdex (Pokémon cards, data under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license), Open Library (books), MusicBrainz/Cover Art Archive (music), Rebrickable (LEGO® sets), Numista (coins and banknotes) and IGDB (games – "Games metadata is powered by IGDB.com"). Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and LEGO® are trademarks of their respective owners, and Klenod is not affiliated with any of them. "Portions of the materials used are unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy. The literal and graphical information presented about Magic: The Gathering, including card images, is copyright Wizards of the Coast, LLC." Values from catalog sources are daily estimates and are not guaranteed.
Changes
If we change the terms significantly, we will let you know in the app. The latest version is always here.
